Terms of use
Last updated 19 September 2026
These terms cover using PrepGrid — as a student revising on your own, as a teacher, or as a school with a licence. By using the service you agree to them.
Who we are
PrepGrid is run by [your trading name and company number, if any]. Contact us at prep11.uk@gmail.com.
Accounts
You need an account to practise. You may sign up with an email address and a password, or sign in with a school Google or Microsoft account where your school allows it.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. An account is for one person: sharing one means two students’ work recorded as one person’s, which makes every report about them wrong.
You must be 13 or older to hold an account. If you are at school, your school may have its own rule about which services you may use — follow that as well.
What you get
- Free. A capped pool of questions per topic, revision notes, and everything the app does except setting written tasks through the app. Nothing expires.
- Individual subscription. The whole question bank and AI marking, for one person, billed monthly by card through Stripe.
- School or teacher licence. The whole bank for every teacher and every student on a class register, plus written tasks set through the app. Schools are invoiced against a purchase order.
Paying, and stopping
An individual subscription renews each month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account page. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
School licences run for the term agreed and are invoiced separately. Payment terms are [your invoice terms — 30 days is usual for schools].
Nothing is deleted when a licence or subscription ends. Classes, registers, tasks already set and every mark are kept. What changes is what you can do next: question sets are drawn from the smaller free pool, and new written tasks cannot be set. Restarting the licence restores access to the full bank immediately.
Refunds: [your refund policy — schools will ask what happens if they cancel mid-term].
AI marking is a machine, not an examiner
Written answers are marked automatically against the question’s mark scheme. It is a useful guide and it is not an exam grade. It can be generous, it can be harsh, and it can be wrong.
Do not use a PrepGrid mark as evidence for a grade, a set placement, or a report to parents without a teacher reading the answer. The marks exist to tell a student what to work on and a teacher what to reteach.
Question content is written to the published specifications of AQA, Edexcel and OCR. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any exam board.
What you may not do
- Copy, scrape, republish or resell the questions, mark schemes or revision notes. They are ours.
- Share an account, or use somebody else’s.
- Try to get at other people’s data, or at parts of the service you have not paid for.
- Use the service to do anything unlawful, or to harass anybody.
Printing worksheets and answer keys for your own class is not only allowed, it is what the feature is for.
Availability
We try to keep the service running and we do not promise it always will be. We may change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paying customer receives, we will tell them.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to [the cap you are willing to accept — commonly the fees paid in the preceding 12 months]. We are not liable for exam results, grades, or decisions taken on the basis of anything the service shows you.
[These two paragraphs are the ones to have a solicitor read before a school signs anything.]
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
